At the end of a long dream
You were waiting for a sign
You were wishing for a way to stay inside
Where time won’t fail you
And words won’t dry up
And song is always within reach
Close your eyes, spin ’round three times
Take a book from off the shelf
Open up to any page and help yourself
Choose any sentence
Or any image
How do you relate to what you see?
On the rise, the sun, the moon
The steadfast planetary view
The ancient ones above
Easy to forget what’s there
With false light shining everywhere
It’s time to let go of
Anything that weighs you down
Way back when you hit the road
There was nothing that could stop you
From traveling past the gates, beyond the clock
Just turn it off now
Let the sand run out
You can go most anywhere
In your hand, you hold the map
All your highways painted blue
All the backroads rolling by that you once knew
Are hallowed ground
And you are bound
To nothing more than open sky
On the rise, the sun, the moon
The steadfast planetary view
The ancient ones above
Easy to forget what’s there
With false light shining everywhere
It’s time to let go of
Anything that weighs you down
The unnecessary worry
No need to be in a hurry
No need to be in a hurry
